My first morning in Hawaii, I was awakened at dawn by the chattering of tropical birds outside the bedroom windows. In my drowsy state, I was almost certain that I was dozing in the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disneyland. Instead, I was in a nice beach house in Kailua that I had rented with some friends who had also come to Hawaii for our friends' wedding.
It was still very early, but I was excited about being in Hawaii for the first time, so I grabbed my cameras and headed out into the dawn. This beach was about fifty yards from the house.
